Broadcast & Recording
CSBS has been providing audio facilities and operators for a wide
range
of programming in both radio and television since 1996. The core of
this has been live radio outside broadcasts for BBC Scotland’s sports
output, most particularly in football and rugby and during that time, we
have facilitated well over one thousand outside broadcasts from Scotland
and many other parts of the world. In 2005 we produced 32 hours
of radio for BBC Scotland from the Open Golf Championship in St Andrews,
and we were also involved in TWI’s production of ‘on course’ radio,
an increasingly popular service at major golf events. In television,
we have worked on programmes from Scotland and all over Europe including
news, documentaries, live events and drama.
We continue to offer this extensive range of experience and expertise to
all our clients.
Music recording
Since the days of the school orchestra onwards, Colin Stephen has been making
music
recordings, and a huge archive of material has been built up, including nearly
every concert from a wonderful 100 seat concert hall at Strathgarry, in Killiecrankie,
Perthshire, at the heart of the Scottish Highlands. This has included
many chamber music concerts, as well as jazz and traditional Scottish music.
The company has produced many CDs over the last fifteen years, ranging from
full orchestral works to chamber and traditional music. Artists we
have worked with include Scottish fiddle player Pete Clark, clarinettist
Lawrence Gill, cellist Alice Neary, pianist Leslie Howard, violinist David
Juritz, flautist David Nicholson, accordionist Sandy Brechin and the Paisley
Abbey Choir, to name but a few. A number of CDs are available for purchase
from this site.
We have established a studio at our base near Edinburgh Airport, which has
digital multi track facilities as well as the capability for live broadcast
via ISDN circuits. With powerful PC facilities, we also have an extremely
portable multi track location recording capability. We are very flexible
and can turn our hand to any recording project you may have in mind.
Please contact us if you would like to discuss a specific project. We encourage the idea of recording at a location that is suitable for the musicians and the type of music they play.
